Visitors at the German Parookaville festival, which was held at the Weeze airport on July 20-22, 2018, had a hard time on Monday to pack their things at the campsite.
I found this so hilarious I had to share it with you. A mini-whirlwind caused the tents and other stuff to fly through the air, as it can be seen on videos that visitors uploaded on social media.
The dance festival was held for the fourth time. This year they had about 100,000 visitors, it is one of the biggest dance festivals in Germany. After I saw that videos on YouTube, I searched for a little bit more information regarding this festival.
The Parookaville is an electronic music festival in Germany, ruled by madness, love and pure happiness alongside some of the dance music’s biggest artists.
The festival is built around the mythology of founding father Bill Parooka and the festival town is named in his honor. The festival is bursting with creativity, from spectacular stage design down to the smaller details. Parookaville is staged every year as a fictional city, complete with passports to get stamped as you enter, general stores for merchandise, and even a church that held Las Vegas-style weddings during the festival.
Musically, each area of the festival town hosts its own flavor of electronic music, with stages covering techno, hard-style, trap, bass and more to accompany the house and EDM that is predominant on the breathtaking main stage.
Recent editions have seen artists like Armin van Buuren, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, David Guetta and Brennan Heart perform.
Add to that a swimming pool, funfair, surrounding woodland and countless other creative wonders, and the result is a truly captivating music festival experience.
Last year (2017) according to the visitors of the campsite they had a huge adventure to get out of the mud. This year (2018) they had an adventure with whirlwinds, if you wonder what is going to be the next year’s challenge, the only thing you have to do is to purchase your tickets for the next year event and go to find out yourself.

I have visited this area in the past. I stayed in one elegant and historic castle hotel, close to the Dutch border, it is near of the Weeze airport but you will definitely need a car if you want to stay there. The name of the hotel is Schloss Wissen and it is stated in a 555 years old castle, by the lake. They have comfortable big rooms, nice gardens, and super delicious breakfast. Prices are reasonable, staff excellent.
