Story about Claire Crosby and her dad Dave

As my readers can notice besides my travel reviews and motivational posts I also like to write about interesting and talented people. Some of them I met and some of them I discovered on the internet. Little Claire Crosby is one of those I discovered on YouTube.

Her father Dave is a very talented musician himself. Like many other proud dads, he believed that his little girl has a very pretty voice.

One day he decided to set the camera and to record one song together with his little girl. He uploaded that video on Facebook for his friends and family and the rest is history. The first song they recorded was “Part of Your World,” a song from Disney’s “Little Mermaid.”

After the video went viral, he decided to make a YouTube channel with his daughter. Their first video has 16 million views on YouTube, but it’s just one of many that have racked up a total of 200 million views since the channel launched in January 2016. 

Their biggest viral hit is the song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” it is the Randy Newman song from “Toy Story.” The video has been viewed 20 million times.

And the last one that I liked very much is the song ”A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman.

Claire and her dad were singing together not only on YouTube but also on stage at various events where they been invited across the country.

Claire’s dad Dan was managing all this together with his daily job at Amazon. Until he got a proposal to participate on the talent show ”The Voice”. Their life changed dramatically. It was going to get more and more crazy and there were a lots of cool opportunities. So eventually he had to leave his job.

In one of his interviews he said: “It felt so wrong because it was so based on my 3-year-old. It was like, ‘What kind of dude wants to make a living off his 3-year-old and just bank on her to feed the family?’ It put me in such an awkward position where I couldn’t really hold a job but at the same time I couldn’t bring myself to take all this money from Claire because she’s the one that had earned it.”

Over the course of the next two years or so, Crosby left his job at Amazon, watched his daughter Claire become a mini-celebrity with more than a million subscribers on YouTube and two million followers on Facebook, helped her land television and movie appearances, competed himself as a singer on “The Voice,” and co-founded a tech company that sells smart-home products.

Today Dan Crosby, 31, is the creative director and co-founder of Wyze, a young startup based in Kirkland, Washington, that offers low-priced home cameras such as the Wyze Cam and the Wyze Cam Pan, which launched at the end of May. I also have to mention Claire’s mom Ashley who is very talented musician as well and very sweet and caring mom of three.

Claire loves to perform right now. Her father said we don’t know if she will remain dedicated to making music and videos and everything else as she gets older, it will be up to her. YouTube is a super fun hobby for the family and he intends to keep it that way.

Claire has been invited on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” at least five times.

They shoot videos a few times a week, and what they sing is pretty much always Claire’s decision.

I enjoy watching their videos and it is so obvious how Claire enjoys to sing very much. I found her pretty talented and adorable young lady. I found their success story amazing as well. What about you?
