The Dutch tulip season officially starts in January. Every year the National Tulip Day is celebrated in Amsterdam. Everyone is invited to pick their own tulip for free from a specially constructed ‘picking garden’ at Amsterdam’s Dam Square, in front of the beautiful Royal Palace.
So if you are planning to visit Amsterdam around the 19th of January it is an interesting event to visit. Around 200.000 colorful tulips will be given for free.

The National Tulip Day have been taking place on the third Thursday of January since 2012 and has proven to be wildly successful with locals and tourists.

Everybody is welcome to visit. You can make your selection and arrange them into your very own bouquet. Every year, around 15.000 happy visitors go home with a total of 200.000 of the iconic flowers.
